The transmission is in third or fourth. TO get it out take the lever off of the cast shift tower and align the shift rails with a large screw driver. Getting the lever out may require the removel of some small plugs that may be holding in a cross pin. The tip of the shifter lever will need to be built up with weld and ground down to just fit in the rail slots. There are nice photos in the archives as to what they should look like under shifter repair. This is not a big issue. JimN
