Can you weld? I made a simple puller with a 4 inch long section of pipe that was just smaller than the diameter of the center of the 3 holes of the cam gear. I welded 3 small L shaped pieces that lined up with the hole locations on one end and a strap with a nut welded to it on the other end. Just put the L shaped peices in the holes and turn to engage the back of the gear. Screw a rounded bolt through the nut and pull the gear right off. It took me ~ 45 minutes to make it from scraps.
