IH 3788 front axle????

Was hoping someone here can give me a lil info. I am building a pulling tractor, and have been looking for axles to use for it, truck rearends of course are popular. Was wondering how tough the front axle from the 2+2's are? How hard are they to get parts for? Also, does anyone have the total final drive ratio for these axles? Any and all help is greatly appreciated, thanks, Larry W.
