SMTA lp question

Ok i saw a smta, now it is a gas tractor. The guy said it had a lp tank originally mounted on the side and also had a gas tank like all others on it. He said this is the way it came from the factory, with both. He said he used it up until recently on lp, until he took all of that off and just started using gasoline. I checked the engine code and it had a c in it, which signifys lp. Has anyone heard or seen of a configuration like this?
