Rod Depending on the hydraulic requirements of the Behlen power steering unit (essentially a torque amplifier), a priority valve would have to be installed in the hydraulic pump pressure line. This valve needs to be placed in the system imediately after the hydraulic pump BEFORE any directional control valves. Typically the priority valve would allow 3 gallons per minute flow to the power steering valve. Brand hydraulics makes a 3 GPM valve which retails for about $70. The balance of the pump output (in excess of 3 gpm) will be available for a 3-pt lift or implement remote cyclinders. A pressure relief valve should be in the pressure line of the power steering circuit. I just converted a wfe Farmall M to power steering. Many thanks to Bob M. for his vast experience and willingness to share information. Ray (medfarm)
