there are a couple of ways to go about this. The H had the early style pto just like what you have now with the larger shaft. That would be the easiest way then you could just park your tractor with the nose down on an incline and remove the bolts around the pto cover and just pull it straight back and install the new one. The other option is the newer style pto. To intall this you need to change the lower shaft that runs through the lower set of gears. You can do this by removeing the lift all pump and pulling this shaft out the front with out spliting the tractor I believe. You will most likely need to pull the top cover to get everything lined back up. you are looking at a big job if you want to change that shaft. The reson being is the drive on the end of that shaft is different early to late. I went through the same thing on my M but I wanted the original pto and not the late style. Good Luck
