I would heat them red hot. WD-40 won't help. If they're studs you can use a pair of vise grips for removing them after they are heated. Once you get them out you should run a tap through the threads. I would put anti-seize compound on the threads of new ones. Hal PS: I saw all that flooding in TX on the Weather Channel. We had 21 inches of rain in June. A lot of crops were ruined. I'm sure glad I live on a hill. I did lose 3 or 4 tomato plants. I had mine up on heavy wire cages and I think that's what saved the majority of them. Never had such tall potato vines either. I cleaned off the garden on Saturday and plowed under the residue. I broadcasted barley on it yesterday and tilled it under. I picked a 7 gallon bucket full of green tomatoes too.
