Run it on gas. Kerosene is more expensive, harder to find in any quantity, and the distillate referred to doesn't exist anymore. The kero/distillate manifolds are the same, the gas one is different. The heads (and possibly the pistons) for gas, kerosene and distillate are different, you will have to get a parts book and compare it with the cast in number under the valve cover. Kerosene/distillate heads produced lower compression than did the gas head. Other than novelty, running on kerosene has no advantage.
