they are AA batterys. I guess I'll just live with it. Don't seem to matter which ones I use. camera takes 2 batterys and I'm sure I don't put the same ones in all the time. I can use the camera for a couple weeks, then when the battery light comes on I think, "OK, I've got a spare set charged up" Wrong, they have gone dead lying on the shelf.
