They are pretty easy to rebuild. The most important thing is the headspacing. The gears will, over time, wear into the cover face. Eventually the pressure output goes down. The cover has shims ( gasket ) reducing the gasket will give you some more pressure. Taking the cover off and surface grinding the inner face flat will do more. But if your bearings are worn real bad, your pressure will still show real low. But they will run a long time with pretty low pressure.
