An M transmission holds about 13 gallons. Make sure you have enough empty buckets ready before you remove that the drain plug! I've had good luck with 85W-90 gear oil purchased at Autozone, Sam's Club, etc. - whoever has it cheapest. I'm sure this stuff is better quality lubricant than the best available back when your M was built.
