Have you checked the mounting for the alternator? If the mounting bolts are dirty/greasy, your circuit may be bad as the frame of the single wire alternator must be in good contact with the engine. Single wire alternators have an internal regulator. If there is no demand (battery fully charged) it may not show a charge. If the alternator was designed for automotive use, may require more rpm's than your Super A produces at idle (Put a smaller sheave on the alternator).
