504 Hydraulacs

Just picked up a 504. The diverter under the steering is squealing like mad so I checked the trans oil and it looks like milk! Local has a filter for me, but I don't really want to pay $42 bucks for a 5 gallon of hydraulic oil. Can anyone tell me the spec for the hydraulic oil for the 504? Maybe I can pick up some at a lube dealer and save some dough. Thanks for any input!
