Yeh T BONE, I know I can get by with the starter and I wouldn't worry about lights right away, mine are 5 or 51/2 in seal beams. I use this tractor to keep the snow plowed at the other place and the 6 volts just won't stand up to the cold. I put 00 cables on it and a new napa comercial battery last year and now it won't start if I leave it sit for a couple weeks. I guess i'll go with the one wire alt and use BOB M's wiring diagram to start with. I don't think alt size is an issue on a 340 as the generator is on the left side low on the engine not under the hood. Thanks for the replies. PUTTER
