Kevin: I gather from what your telling me the manifold is in quite bad shape. One other thing you might try again with the new pipe, is brazing it to the manifold. I've never done it, but have seen it done with good success. You have to look at it from the point of view, "manifold is toast anyhow, what have I got to loose." I think before I went to that trouble, I'd look the manifold over well for thin spots or cracks. Have you checked out the price of a new manifold for a 140? I think they are available.
