There's more to productivity than fuel use. Exampe if you'r M covers 2 acres doing a job in 2 hours using 10 gallons of fuel. Smaller tractor covers 1 acre in 2 hours using 6 gallons. First tractor is more productive in this case. I run excavating equipment from time to time and lot of people will ask for price by day or hour of machine,then go with smaller machine at cheaper price. Lots of times they end up spending more because with right size machine the work could be completed in a fourth or third of time.
