Still a lot of heads out there yet, but I do see your point... If you can get to the area in need of repair, welding would obviously be the best choice for a permanent fix. Have a look at what you have and go from there. I still have two heads that need repaired, not throwing them out just yet, I just had spare heads at the time. I went out in the shop to see what the temp rating on the Devcon putty is, but I appear to be out at this point. I think it will withstand the temps if I remember correctly but do some research. There a lot of chemicals out there that my be a better answer than welding in a already thin area... remember, you are patching a water jacket, so the temps seen may not be as high as you think in the repaired exhaust port.
