Fast Hitch Plow

Just bought a fast hitch plow and hooked it up to the SMTA last night. I got the first bottom to go in real good, the second a little, and the third not much at all. The points on the plow are in good shape, but our ground is pretty hard. Haven't had a measurable rain in probably 3 weeks. Its the later style fast hitch. I took the 2 pins out that lock the arms rigid. Is this the thing to do, or should I let them in? There is some adjustment in the angle of the tongs on the plow. I tilted them down some more, but by then it was too late to try it anymore. Also for more traction the handle on the tractor gets moved down, right? I've never been around fast hitch stuff before. Thanks for all help in advance.
