Stopped along I-81 in southern PA today, to look at some used IHs a guy has out for sale. He reconditions IH tractors, paints-up the better examples (mostly collectible Farmalls like Hs and Ms, or big diesels for working tractors) and does a fairly good trade in refurbished IH tractors. One of my northern tier dairy farmer cousins has bought two reconditioned/repainted IH diesels from the guy over the past 8 or 10 years and is happy with them. He had a fairly rough-looking 340 utility out on the hill today, that he wanted $2500 for. No loader, but he said everything works fine including the TA. It's just ugly and apparently not enough profit incentive to make it purty, like the bigger tractors he has for sale. Did have a new seat and battery, otherwise original.
