Magman, you could probably do that, I'm sure it would restrict the airflow, don't know if it would be that great or not. Another trick I have seen is to find a universal flexible radiator hose. You should be able to find one that is big one one end and small on the other, but it might still be restrictive, and it wouldn't appear stock. I've also seen K&N type filters that mounted directly to the carb, but that definately does not appear stock.
