Charlie First I would check the couplers to see that thsy are not the cause of it not working both ways. Do not interchange ball couplers with one's with points and stay with same brands, if the spring load of each coupler is not the same when you activate the valve the weak coupler can jam closed. If that does not help the valve can be truned from single to double and if not set right that can make it work as you say. As for leak down not kit for the valve, but you can put on check valve to hold implement up and it will not go down with power.
