They get that way when they've been overtightened. Like Allan, I have had luck tightening some of them with pliers. You've got nothing to lose by trying that. Like the other guys say, the proper fix would be to get a whole new assembley. Do not use permatex. No matter what the directions say it will stand up to, it will eventually find it's way into your carb.
