md piston rings

overhauling my md and was installing the rings on the pistons. the first packet of rings were all marked and that went fine, the second,third and fourth packets are not. the top ring is beveled on the three so i know how that one goes in but the second and third have nothing. based on what i know they could go in either way;correct ?
