The best gas tank cleaner is a two part system sold by Yamaha Motorcycle dealers. Called "Rust removal, and "Rust Conditioner". Also body shop supply houses have a product called "Metal Prep" that will work. Both contain phosphoric acid which eats the rust. DON'T use an interior coat product until you have all the rust out. It won't adhere to rusty metal. And certainly don't use it unless you have a leak! After it's clean, check for leaks. Rare to have a leak. If it's tight you are good to go without taking a chance on those coating products. If they don't work right you have a REAL problem! Gordo
