Some of the satellite service will "throttle" your service if you use it too much. There are hundreds of new WISP"s popping up all over the country to serve rural customers, and the price is coming down. My neighbor paid $200 for Lawrencefreenet.com to put up a reciever on his roof, and he enjoys high speed wireless for $19.95 per month. He gets his signal from KU in Lawrence, KS about 6 miles away. A competitor in the area has similar service but it"s $59.95 and requires a 2 yr contract, so you can see who"s getting the customers in the area. There are providers all over Kansas popping up in small towns. Do a Google search for Broadband or DSL for rural customers and see what you can find.
