The SD, BD and BG engines were the truck equivalents of the C-221 thru the C-301 found in the 460 through 806 tractors. In most truck configurations they had a downdraft carb, but in the Metro vans some had updrafts like the tractors. Max recommended rpm for the truck motors was 3600 RPM, so there might be an advantage to using one in place of a lower-rpm ag engine.
