I'm not positive, but I think that the "Supers" didn't come out 'till about 53 or so...at least on the bigger tractors. So, assuming the A's were the same, yours is either not a Super A or not a '46. Does it have the touch-control hydraulic system? These came out on the Supers I think. If it does, there should be two arms that go out and up, used to raise or lower various implements, one on either side below the gas tank. There will be two levers that control these arms just to the left of the throttle, which is just to the left of the steering post. As for controls- the throttle lever, like I said, is immediately left of the steering post. It'll have a sawtooth bracket that holds it in place. If it has the touch control levers, they have guides beside them with adjustable stops. Other controls will be- on the left side of the battery there'll be a rod with a loop on the end that runs down to the carb. That's the choke. An identical rod on the right side will go to the starter motor- that, funny enough, is the starting rod. There should be a push-pull switch on the panel that the ampmeter is on, thats the on-off switch. A larger round rotating switch on that panel ran the lights. I'm sure you know what the gearshift is and where it's at. Last thing I can think of is to the immediate left rear of the left seat bracket there should be a small lever sticking up- that's your pto lever. Most of the things(trans/rearend, final drives, steering box, etc. should have a fairly obvious plug on the sides of them that is for fluid levels. There's a larger plug on top of the trans near the shifter to fill it. Like previously mentioned, you NEED to get a manual if you're gonna run this tractor much. They can be ordered online through the links on the left of this page. I'll let someone else tackle your mag questions! Good luck!

On the Road with Dave Gohl: Tractor Club Beginnings - by Dave Gohl. I was surprised about a month ago when I got a call from a fellow tractor croonie. His message was interesting and to the point. He's says "Dave, I've been thinking about starting a Two Cylinder club for our area. What do ya think?" It was a loaded question. I said that I would be interested, and was wondering what his next step was. (Although I was talking under my breath, since I thought of this some years ago) My friend, Arlyn Lamb of Lakeville, Minnesota was sincere in his miss
