Unless the engine has a fresh rebuild, I would only use non-detergent SAE 30. If you've ever had the oil pan off, you've seen a layer of sludge on the bottom of the pan that doesn't drain out when you change oil. I've seen this up to 1/4" thick. If you change to a detergent oil, the sludge can break loose and stay in suspension in the oil, and could plug up the oil pump screen, etc. The detergent in the oil will also wash all of the other grime in the crankcase into the oil. Not something that you want to have pumped thru the bearings. If you use the tractor alot below 32F, you could change to SAE 20 in the winter.
