I was thinking that if I went to a gooseneck trailer that I would have to go to a one ton dually pickup. When I consider the weight of the trailer, tractor and truck that I would over gross the allowable weight for the truck. My neighbor pulled a gooseneck with a 1/2 ton pickup and that definitely was too heavy.What are your thoughts? I plan to buy an older pickup to pull the trailer.In fact, I am currently looking at a 1997 Chev 3500 with a 5.7L but no duals. Is that big enough for a gooseneck trailer?
