Oil pressure Gauge line Fitting

Hello
I have a 1940 H and the oil line to the pressure gauge has a male nut with a compression fitting. Is this the orignal hook-up or has it midified? The gauge I took off is all smoked up so I can not tell if the gauge is orignal. I'm trying to determan what new gauge to buy. Thanks
