The disk brakes are "self energising" that means they assist in there own application. It is to do with the ramp and balls and the stops on the plates and there action with the friction plates and anchor points. Glazed surfaces will cause grabbing as will tempreature changes, humidity changes, stickie oil deposits on the disks, and sometimes no good reason. Clean the ramps and balls, make sure the little springs are good. Sand the disks (and check thickness) ( I put a skiff of lps corosion inhibitor on the balls and ramps to limit rusting, but not collect brake dust) Good luck. JimN
