Hi Dean, my Dad had B414,434,384 all the same tractor with different sheet metal and 444 is same as well.
We lived in eastern Canada and had to plug these British Diesel in when temp got below 0F. We always used the the heater that went into the bottom rad hose that you could purchase from CND Tire for about $10.00. The only problem is you have to completely drain coolant, remove lower rad hose from engine block end, cut a small hole in lower rad hose about 2" from engine block connection, piont heater element toward engine block, install from inside rad hose thru hole cut in rad hose, install outer shell of heater assy., reconnect rad hose and refill coolant.
In -30F weather 30 minutes with heater plugged in and engine will start with winter Diesel fuel and a good heavy duty battery.

Re transmission gear oil level, it is checked by removing plug at floor board by brake pedal. When tractor is level gear oil should be at bottom of check plug. Filler plug is by gear shift. Oil is 80 or 90 wt gear oil.
Hydraulic oil is Hytran and is checked by filler plug behind seat. From B414 Operator manual for Hydraulic oil level: "Remove plug and check oil level. Top up until the oil is level with the top of housing".

Had good service out of the models we had.
