I think you nailed it. It has the 100 sheet metal and gas tank, also the larger diameter steering wheel. The reason the front end looks strange in the rear view is that the bottom portion of the grille is gone. The serial number would probably not distinguish a 100 from a 130 because they both started at 501. You would probably need to look at casting codes if the serial plate can no longer be read. 100s were '54 to '56, 130s were '56 to '58.

The A did not have hydraulics, the Super A typically did. The first very few Super As were made in '47.

I doubt that the seller is intentionally misleading anyone. To me, the price looks out of line for the condition.
