Stage I has the same 164 cid engine, disc brakes, faster 2nd, 3rd, & 4th gears but battery under the gas tank & the transmission driven belly mounted hyd. pump. Stage II has the battery box seat & hyd. res. under the gastank and the distributor mounted live hyd. pump, plus the 300/350 style front bolster with the pivot points for front mounted cultivators. Plus the Stage II's seem to bring about $1000 or more at auction than the Stage I's. IH only built about 10,000 of the Stg. II's & 19,226 of the Stg I's.
