Sounds like you threw a rod through the side of block. A good used replacement would be the cheapest way to go, if it did indeed throw a rod, cause the block will need fixed(if possoble), crank is most likely damaged and rod is trashed. Engines from an H, Super H, 300 & 350 will fit your 300. where are you located ? Someone on here probably knows of a few salvage yards in your area.
