Helicoil or Lock-N-Stitch are two types of thread repair inserts. I like the Lock-N-Stitch but they are expensive. Do not weld the holes shut unless you can control the cooldown process. Cast iron is high carbon and will become harder than the hubs of he|| if allowed to cool too quickly.
