Use an open-center valve, in series. A closed-center valve is for use only on a system designed as closed-center, and if you put it on your tractor, it would completely block hydraulic flow from the pump, and the pump or gear drive train would likely break. Closed-center system pumps go "out of stroke" when you oil flow is needed.
