Thought I'd share with you all the rim resto on my SMTA. It was used on a dairy farm, ergo the rims were corroded pretty badly, but no holes through. First, heat and straighten the outer bead. Then 3-4 hours smoothing with 4 1/2 inch angle grinder and about 5 60 grit flap wheels. Then sand blast. Next a coat of etch primer. Then bondo in the roughest places. Power sand with 120 to even up the bondo. Three coats primer surfacer, sand 220.. Three more coats primer surfacer. Hand sand 360 grit. PrepSol, tack cloth, sealer coat. 360 light sand. Prepsol. tack cloth, 4 coats urethane Argent Silver. The inside of the rims just got the etch primer, non sanding primer, and about six coats of half price, "wrong color red" paint from the auto body store. New tubes, Firestone 13.6x38s. Total cost materials 670$ Total labor 28 hours. (130$ ) Grand total 800$ For Sale for 1500 VBG Of course they look 3 times better than orignal, and are "over restored". But if you wanted to mount them on a 100 point Mustang for Barrett- Jackson, they would pass inspection. Photos coming, when I figure that out. Gordo

Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
