You're missing the point here chief. Converting the magneto ignition is simpler than distrubutor since you won't be messing with the mag at all. The mag makes its own spark while the distributor needs electricity from the charging system, keep your ham fists outta that mag and you'll be okay. The only thing your charging system has to do is recharge the battery after you startup and run the lights if you've got 'em. So, hook up your alternator the way you like, but don't run anything to the mag, you also won't need a shut off, except to keep from having your alternator drain your battery, but I think that can be fixed with a diode.
