Your H originally had a magneto. The magnetos were a bit troublesome so the vast majority of Hs had the magneto replaced with a battery ignition distributor. Some of these distributors were the upright Delco such as you have, and some of them were the IH built units. Neither of these is "correct", but both are appropriate. If you want your H to be "correct", you will need to change it back to a magneto. If you don't care, it don't matter. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
