We have a Super WD6. Dad had the head off it two or three times years ago because it kept bending the gas valves thus holding them part way open and lowering compression on diesel operation. There is a set of contacts in the end of the intake manifold that shut off spark when you switch to diesel. If this switch goes bad it lets the plugs fire when the valves are closed and it will bend the gas valves. Now we always shut off the ignition switch then move the switching lever. This tractor uses the batery ignition and not a mag.
