I was searching through the archives on this subject the other day. I have a 460 Ute with the same problem. Mine has the cable linkage and I have a used replacement that has different linkage. My plan was just to swap out the valve, but it looks like I will need to do some swapping of the internals instead. I have read that getting the timing correct on the spider gears is difficult.
