A mag will fire in reverse but you will not get the spark you need or the timing right. Check the serial # on the mag you took off for a letter code at the end like H472904L or H472904D or no letter code at all like H472904_ No Letter the one you put on must be the same letter code or it will not work right . Now a D and an L are both LH trip mags but have a different timing one is 15 deg one is 35 deg and that will not work either. Also a mag that need rebuilding can be weak enough to not fire her corectly.
