timing a 436 motor

Can someone tell me how to set the timing on my 1466 ,436 motor? The timing should be 18 degrees. Mine is at 15. Won"t this make it run hot under a load? How do I set it? Can I lossen the pump and turn it or what has to be done? Any help appricated. Thanks Larry
