Thanks for the idea. My dad found his crimped connection to be a bit loose and tightened it and the starter seems to be working fine now. Time will tell. The starter people said that sometimes the safety switch also would reduce the proper 12v to the starter and cause this problem. Dad found the terminal connector suspicious and started there. A 500 dollar loose connection........
