Yeah, your right on both counts. Been a while since I've seen a 12/14, forgot they were a downdraft. And I should note, on my F-20, the normal procedure is to turn on the gas(at the sediment bowl), pull the choke, give it ONE revolution with the crank, shut the gas off, then open the choke back up, and it'll usually pop right off on the next pull of the crank. Once it's running I turn the gas back on. If I spin her over more than once with the choke closed, it'll be dripping gas out of the carb. However, if I don't turn it over that one time with the choke shut, I can crank and crank and crank and she won't start. Might be just something my tractor does, since I haven't messed with any other 20's. The 656, however DOES seem to always need to be cranked until it starts with the choke pulled about halfway out.
