You guys may have heard of this tip before but I never had so I thought I would pass it along. A friend needed to replace the flywheel on his Jet Ski that threaded onto the end of the crank. There was no good way to block the engine from turning during removal, so he referred to a Jet Ski website similar to this one for tractors. The advice found was to remove the spark plugs and fill the cylinder(s) with rope. When the engine rotated, it would eventually come to a stop. We tried it and it worked like a champ. This procedure would work on other engines as well when there is not a good way to keep it from rotating.
