Really, it depends on how mechanical you are. You can pull the PTO out the back, (drain the rear end oil first) then remove the single bolt and cap on the inside end of axle leaving the bull gear in place and slide the housing out, (I used wood shim stock to wedge the bull gear up and keep it in place for reassembly) also (may have to push the axle out using the end bolt between the two axles) But it can be a big job lining up the spines when reassembly occurs!! Their is only so much room to reach through the PTO hole so use your head and it can be done. I changed both sides in about 4 1/2 hrs just last fall. Good luck and I hope this helps. Ken
