I agree that probably everyone uses whatever is in the grease gun when they grease the tractor and it works fine.

It does seem to me that there was special water pump grease available at one time though. I think my dad used it in the early 1960�s on the pump he used to move water from the stock tank to the tank on the trailer to haul out to a remote pasture. I�m not sure if he used it on the tractor though�knowing him, he had a gun dedicated to just that kind of grease.
