I have a WD-6. The only problem I've had with starting is that it'll sometimes die while warming up on the gas side - suspect I need to overhaul the carb. Always starts right back up. Once its running on gas the only problem I've ever had is trying to switch to diesel too soon when the engine is cold. Just need to let it run a little longer, sometimes a couple minutes. Once trick I did discover (think from reading some of the archives here). When you're ready to make the switch to diesel, open the diesel throttle until you just start to get a little smoke, then push both levers to the diesel position. This minimizes the loss of speed during the changeover.
